  • Better Yoga is both the name of our online studio and our signature style of yoga that incorporates anatomically-aligned yoga and strength training. Our yoga works to improve not just your flexibility, but also words to build strength to develop balanced muscles and functional movement. Its eastern wisdom meets western science through the lenses of yoga and anatomy. 

  • Absolutely! Our classes at Better Yoga are designed with a focus on alignment, strength, and flexibility, which can significantly help alleviate pain in the lower back, shoulders, and knees. Many of our yoga practices incorporate therapeutic sequences aimed at addressing common areas of discomfort and promoting overall body balance.

  • Our online studio offers several styles of hatha yoga including Katonah Yoga®, Kripalu Yoga® vinyasa, Ayurvedic yoga, restorative practices, and strength-building yoga classes. We also offer yoga therapy and breathwork classes.

  • Better Yoga offers both breathwork and breath training. Breathwork refers to a variety of breathing practices designed to promote mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It often involves specific breathing patterns and techniques intended to induce relaxation, reduce stress, and achieve altered states of consciousness. Breathwork practices can range from simple deep breathing exercises to more complex and structured forms of breathing.Breath training, on the other hand, is a more structured and systematic approach aimed at improving respiratory efficiency and physical performance. It involves exercises designed to strengthen the respiratory muscles, improve lung capacity, and optimize oxygen utilization. Breath training is often used by athletes, individuals with respiratory conditions, and those seeking to enhance their overall fitness and health

  • Yes. Better Yoga offers private training in both yoga asana and breathing. We also offer Ayurvedic health consultations to help you regulate digestion, maintain healthy weight, and balance your personal constitution. Each of our private training offerings is a highly customized and precise approach to target your individual goals or relieve pain.

  • To sign up for a Better Yoga livestream class, visit our online studio LIVE Classes page. Click on the daily class you wish to join. If you are an All Access or Private Training member, you will be able to access the livestream when it starts by clicking the “Click Here to Join Livestream” button underneath the countdown box. If you are not a member, you can purchase the individual class or sign up for a membership to access the class. If you purchase the individual class, you can return to the same daily livestream page and click the “Click Here to Join Livestream” button. No livestream link will be sent to your email, all participants will enter through the Better Yoga online studio.

  • Yes. We offer annual mentorship programs that count toward your Yoga Alliance continuing education hours. We also offer credits for our Ayurveda Subdoshas yoga series, which you can find on our online studio.

  • Yes. There are various mini and full length recorded classes available for free on our website. We also offer a weekly free breathing class at 7:30am ET on Wednesdays. You can also visit our YouTube channel to view hundreds of free mini practices.

  • Yes. We have a category called “New To Yoga” on our online studio with practices suitable for all levels, especially beginners. The best livestream class for beginners is our Kripalu Yoga® class on Mondays at 10:30am ET.
